Hotel Tresanton

Overlooking the sea in the village of St Mawes, Tresanton is a collection of five whitewashed houses transformed into a relaxed coastal retreat with an almost Mediterranean feel. Designed by Olga Polizzi, the hotel combines understated elegance with a strong sense of place.

A cozy bedroom with a wooden dresser, a nightstand with pink flowers, a framed abstract art piece, a desk with a beige chair, a lamp, and a bed with a striped blanket and cloud-patterned pillow.
View through open windows showing a scenic seaside landscape with a lighthouse on a hill, water, and green hills in the distance.

Rooms & Suites

Spread across five houses, Tresanton's 30 rooms and suites are individually designed by Olga Polizzi, combining carefully chosen antiques, Cornish art and understated coastal elegance. All enjoy sea views, while many feature private terraces that make the most of the spectacular setting. Four rooms are also designated as dog-friendly, ensuring every member of the family feels welcome.

Large windows let in natural light and reveal a lush garden outside, with green trees and plants. There is a black bench with patterned cushions along the wall and a door leading to an outdoor patio.

Food & Drink

Sun-drenched by day and candlelit by night, Tresanton offers a collection of inviting spaces for dining, drinking and unwinding. The hotel's main restaurant opens onto a pelargonium-filled terrace with sweeping sea views towards St Anthony's Lighthouse, while the Dogs' Bar provides a more relaxed setting, complete with an open fire, board games, casual dining and a warm welcome for four-legged guests.

Pinuccia

From May to September, guests can explore the waters of Falmouth Bay aboard Pinuccia, the hotel's beautifully restored classic Italian yacht. Guided by an experienced skipper, sail through one of Britain's most picturesque sailing regions, including the Fal and Helford estuaries, with a picnic and bottle of wine for the journey. For an especially memorable experience, early morning sailings offer tranquil waters and spectacular Cornish light as the coastline slowly awakens.

Beach Club

Perched above the water's edge, the Beach Club is a relaxed seaside retreat with a café, bar and sweeping views across the bay towards St Anthony's Lighthouse. With direct access to Tavern Beach below, it offers a laid-back setting for drinks, light bites and long afternoons spent watching the sea, whether basking in the sunshine or wrapped in a blanket on cooler days.

Weddings & Events

With its spectacular coastal setting and relaxed elegance, Tresanton provides a memorable backdrop for weddings by the sea. From planning and dining to the finer details of the day, every celebration is carefully tailored, while the nearby 14th-century Church of St Just in Roseland offers one of England’s most beautiful locations for a ceremony.
