The Star

Located in the medieval village of Alfriston, The Star combines centuries of history with contemporary comfort. Thoughtfully restored and redesigned by Olga Polizzi, the hotel offers 29 individually designed rooms and junior suites, blending characterful original features with elegant modern touches.

Rooms & Suites

29 individually designed rooms and suites, created by Olga Polizzi, blend character, comfort and a distinctly English sense of style. A carefully curated mix of antiques, contemporary furnishings and local artwork gives each room its own personality, while features such as private patios, Juliet balconies and light-filled interiors create inviting spaces to relax.

Food & Drink

The restaurant at The Star celebrates the best of Sussex's seasonal produce through simple, ingredient-led cooking that focuses on clarity of flavour. Framed by a striking black-and-white floor designed by local artist Amanda Lawrence, the dining room combines character and warmth, while doors open onto a charming courtyard for relaxed outdoor dining in the warmer months.
