Goodnight Books: 10 years of stories

Duetorrihotels

Duetorrihotels “Goodnight Books” celebrate their 10th anniversary in Milan, marking a decade-long journey through culture, hospitality and the discovery of new destinations.

What began with a small book placed on a bedside table has grown into a publishing project spanning five Italian cities. Created at Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni” in Bologna, the Duetorrihotels Goodnight Books were conceived as a different way of introducing guests to the cities they were visiting, through stories, places and people that sit beyond the usual guidebooks.

The idea came from Tiberio Biondi, General Manager of Grand Hotel Majestic who wanted to share a lesser-known side of Bologna with hotel guests. The first book brought together contributions from leading voices in Italian journalism and culture, exploring stories and places that reveal another side of the city. The concept was subsequently extended to other destinations across the Duetorrihotels collection.

Over the past ten years, the books have become more than something to discover beside the bed. The launch of Discovery 4Tour has brought their stories into the cities themselves, with journeys inspired by the books and developed in collaboration with local tourism boards and institutions.

Ten years on, the project continues to offer a different way of looking at familiar destinations, starting with the stories that are often missed.
