Taste of the extraordinary

Linthwaite House

At Linthwaite House, dining is led by Henrock, where Simon Rogan MBE and his team present ingredient-led set and tasting menus rooted in seasonality, with produce from Our Farm in the Cartmel Valley and influences from his international kitchens.

The Bar & Conservatory offers relaxed all-day dining, cocktails and afternoon tea with views over Lake Windermere and the Coniston Fells, bringing together comfort, flavour and the surrounding landscape.

Henrock

Henrock is Simon Rogan MBE’s relaxed restaurant at Linthwaite House, tucked high above Lake Windermere where the hills fall into water and the air carries the scent of woodland.

In the kitchen, Executive Chef Paul Burgalières and Head Chef Mark McCabe interpret Rogan’s farm-to-table philosophy with quiet precision and a reverence for the seasons. Vegetables, herbs and flowers arrive from Our Farm in the nearby Cartmel Valley, their colours and perfumes shaping dishes that feel both delicate and grounded.

The Choice Menu, Short Menu and Full Menu unfold like a journey through Cumbria, familiar flavours lifted by subtle techniques and influences gathered from Rogan’s international restaurants in Hong Kong, Malta and Phuket. The result is a dining experience that is at once local and worldly, honest and imaginative, and deeply attuned to its landscape.

Bar & Conservatory

The Bar & Conservatory unites relaxed elegance, breathtaking vistas and seasonal flavour. Under Head Chef Gerald van der Walt, the menus celebrate fresh, thoughtful cooking designed for lingering over, whether with a cocktail, a light bite or something more indulgent. Guests settle into the warmth of the dining room or take their time on the terrace, where views of Windermere and the Coniston Fells add a touch of theatre to every plate.

Finally, Afternoon Tea arrives as a quintessentially British pleasure. Fine teas, artisanal sweets and warm scones with clotted cream are served in serene surroundings, where the beauty of the Lakes elevates even the smallest details.
