Perfectly positioned in the heart of the city, Hotel Bristol Palace provides an ideal base from which to experience Genoa’s landmark cultural event of 2026. From 20 March to 19 July, Palazzo Ducale hosts Van Dyck: The European. The Journey of a Genius from Antwerp to Genoa and London, a major exhibition dedicated to Anthony van Dyck. The show traces the artistic evolution of the Baroque master, from his early years in Antwerp to his transformative time in Genoa - where he portrayed the city’s aristocracy with striking elegance - and on to London, where he served as court painter to Charles I of England.
International attention has followed. The New York Times has named Genoa among its top destinations for 2026, highlighting the Van Dyck exhibition as a defining reason to visit and affirming the city’s growing cultural appeal.
After a day immersed in art, guests can return to the Belle Époque grandeur and contemporary comfort of Hotel Bristol Palace - an elegant retreat at the very centre of a city rediscovered.
